On Sunday, July 10th, Aaron Gordon and friends took to Venice Beach to showcase the world's top dunkers in a winner-take-all dunk competition. ZTE Presents Aaron Gordon's Dunk Fest Powered VBL brought out thousands of basketball junkies, beachgoers, tourists, NBA fans, and gravity-defying athletes to watch, soak up the sun, cheer on their favorite dunks, and get up close and personal with Aaron and friends. The judges included NBA star Metta World Peace, former NBA athlete Drew Gordon, ZTE's CMO, NBA player Glen "Big Baby" Davis, UCLA legend Ed O'Bannon, filmmaker Anthony Hemingway, dunk king Porter Maberry, and the host Aaron Gordon.
After a few rounds and a final battle between Chris Staples, Kenny Dobbs, Michael Purdie, and Jordan "Flight" Sutherland came down to the final two dunks, Sutherland came away with the title and tons of love from the capacity crowd at the world famous Venice Beach basketball courts.
